Girls Flag Football League Expands for Fall Season Across East Tennessee Schools

East Ridge and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts stand among 11 schools set to expand the interscholastic girls flag football league in East Tennessee this fall.
The league began as a partnership between Hamilton County Schools and the Tennessee Titans in Winter 2024. Its growth through Fall 2026 brings new teams into competition at a time when local athletic departments seek additional varsity options for female athletes.
Participating Hamilton County programs
Brainerd High School joins East Hamilton, Howard and Soddy Daisy as confirmed participants in the expanded schedule. Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence continues its co-op arrangement with Brainerd for football while maintaining separate squads in volleyball, basketball, wrestling, soccer and cross country.
East Ridge High School fields teams in flag football alongside wrestling and soccer. Chattanooga Christian School offers 12 competitive sports with roughly half its students involved in at least one. Notre Dame High School and McCallie maintain full varsity rosters across multiple disciplines.
Championship calendar and next steps
Chattanooga will host the TSSAA High School Tennis Championship for girls and boys May 12-15 2026, providing one benchmark for regional event planning. The flag football timeline now shifts attention to regular-season preparation ahead of Fall 2026 contests.
Schools will finalize rosters and practice fields in the coming weeks. Hamilton County athletic directors will coordinate game sites and officials through the existing Titans partnership.
